First International Appearance of the U16 Team at the Tchouk Kids Tournament in Poland

On Saturday, November 22, 2025, the German U16 national squad made its first appearance on the international stage at the prestigious Tchouk Kids Tournament in Poland — and the opening ceremony immediately delivered a goosebump moment. All teams were officially welcomed, and each nation’s anthem was played in their honor. For our German U16 team, it was a special moment to represent Germany.

Exciting matches and valuable experience

In the first match, our team faced Poland II. The excitement was noticeable, and despite a strong and determined performance, we had to concede defeat with a score of 19:29 .

The second match against Hungary I turned into pure suspense. In a true nail-biter, our U16 kept their composure and edged out a 35:34 victory — an enormous moment for the team.

Against Hungary II, the team unfortunately couldn’t build on their previous success. The match was hard-fought, but this time it just wasn’t enough: 18:22.

In the final match, the clear tournament favorite, Poland I, awaited us. Despite great effort and courageous play, we had to accept a 20:35 defeat.

Grown as a team

In the end, our U16 team finished in 4th place. More importantly, however, the squad gained valuable playing experience, enjoyed international matchups, and grew noticeably closer as a team.

A special thanks goes to the Polish Tchoukball Association and all the dedicated volunteers who made this tournament possible. With their excellent organization, warm hospitality, and strong sense of community, they ensured that the tournament day was not only a sporting highlight but also a memorable human experience for our German U16 team.
