From December 18 to 21, 2025, the National Federation of German Tchoukball took part in the Nations Cup held as part of the Geneva Indoors, with its women’s, men’s, and Mixed Over-40 national teams. This traditional tournament is one of the most important international competitions in tchoukball and once again brought together numerous nations from around the world in Geneva.
Strong Performance by the Women’s National Team
In the women’s competition, 13 nations took part. After a preliminary round with four qualification matches, a knockout phase followed to determine the final rankings.
The German women’s team got off to a successful start on December 18, winning their opening match against Colombia 50:40. The following day, the team confirmed its strong form with a clear 42:29 victory over England. Against the physically strong team from Singapore, Germany then suffered a decisive 15:55 defeat, before closing the preliminary round with an impressive 45:35 win against Brazil.
As the second-placed team in the preliminary round, Germany qualified for the semifinals, where they faced host nation Switzerland on December 20 and were defeated 21:58. In the third-place match, Germany met Singapore again and lost 24:50. In the end, they secured a very respectable 4th place, highlighting the positive development of the women’s squad at the international level.
