National Teams train in Weimar

On the weekend of November 1–2, 2025, Germany’s women’s and men’s national tchoukball teams gathered in Weimar for an intensive training weekend. The squad training served as focused preparation for the upcoming Nations Cup in Geneva in December — the international season highlight for German tchoukball.

On Saturday morning, the women’s and men’s teams trained separately. The women’s squad focused on throwing practice, offensive plays, and second-line drills, while the men’s squad concentrated on defense — emphasizing reaction, positioning, and coordination.

In the afternoon, both teams came together in the Weimar-West sports hall. During mixed training matches — women versus men and also men among themselves — the players were able to apply what they had worked on earlier directly in a competitive setting. The games featured many impressive plays and an abundance of enthusiasm and joy for the sport.

The evening ended on a relaxed note with a shared pizza round and lively discussions about tactics and game ideas — a successful blend of focused training and team building.

On Sunday, the women’s and men’s teams began with individual throwing practice before moving on to another series of training matches. Around 1 p.m., the training weekend came to an end — with consistently positive spirits and strong motivation for the final weeks leading up to the tournament in Geneva.
